United Methodist Mexican-American Ministries d/b/a Genesis Family Health

In partnership with Genesis Family Health, the Early Detection Works program continues to champion prevention, education and quality healthcare for underserved women throughout rural western Kansas at risk for or coping with breast and/or cervical cancer. Financial support from Avon's BHOP, Komen Kansas and the Kansas Department of Health & Environment enables our dedicated, compassionate outreach team to raise community awareness through health fairs, special events and other neighborhood advocacy while linking uninsured women, ages 40-64, of any ethnic background with no-cost screening, mammography, breast exam and/or pap smear services. Opportunities for subsidized treatment and/or cost-share of excessive medical bills are explored in partnership with local hospitals, healthcare professionals, social service agencies and GFH care centers supported by area churches, community philanthropies and concerned citizens.
