The goal of the SCF Screening and Prevention department is to increase breast health awareness and screening for Alaska Native, American Indian and all women ages 40 and older who are within our targeted village communities and formed community health partnerships. This will be accomplished by 1) promoting breast health knowledge and linkage to services; 2) providing yearly clinical breast exams to all women and screening mammograms beginning at age 40 and following up on abnormal screening results; and 3) assisting women over age 64 to qualify for Medicare.
