For thirty-five years, the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium's mission has been to provide state-of-the-art information on breast cancer research. Starting as a one-day regional conference, the symposium has grown to a five-day program attended by a broad international audience of academic and private researchers and physicians from over 100 countries. Avon BHOP grantees continue to forge innovative relationships to reach underserved communities! Avon BHOP Grantee Ramona Boatner of the YWCA ENCOREplus program promoted breast health services by serving as a speaker at the October 2012 "Pink with a Purpose" event in Baton Rouge, co-sponsored by the Southern University School of Business, 100 Black Women and 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge (non-profit social service agencies).
