Saint Michael's Medical Center Inc. In the Pink Program

The 'In the Pink ' Breast Cancer and Early Detection Program, is a Newark-based program serving minority, disadvantage female residents (i.e., African American/Latina) living in or near Essex County. A full continuum of care is provided in partnership with the Saint Michael's Regional Cancer Center and the Connie Dwyer Breast Center. The overarching goal is increasing early detection of breast problems/ cancer while decreasing the occurrence of advanced breast cancer in populations impacted by severe health disparities and increased health risk. The program provides breast health screening, education and outreach to Essex County residents. We also utilize the "Mobile Clinic" modality in an effort to remove structural barriers and reach the hard to reach.
